NORTH COUNTRY BASS CLUB
CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS
ARTICLE I: Name and Purpose
Section 1: Name
This chapter shall be called the North Country Bass Club of Alexandria, Minnesota.
Section 2: Purpose
The purpose of the North Country Bass Club is to foster and perpetuate the art of competitive bass fishing and to promote and encourage youth fishing.
ARTICLE II: Membership
- All members must be 16 years of age unless their membership is approved by the board.
- All members must be paid to vote.
- Quorum shall consist of 12 members.
- By-laws may be changed at any duly called meeting with a quorum present.
- Membership dues will be set each year at the first meeting. Dues are currently $50.00. Dues for junior (under 16 years of age) anglers are waived.
ARTICLE III: Officers and Committees
- Previous year’s Angler of the Year will be president for the current year.
- Secretary/Treasurer shall be elected each year.
- Committees will be appointed each year at the first meeting.
ARITCLE IV: Tournaments
Section 1: Draw Tournaments
- There will be five (5) draw tournaments each year.
- Draw tournaments will be 6 hours long and will start at 6:00 AM unless daylight conditions dictate a later start.
- Pre-fishing cut off will be 12:00 AM on the Friday before the draw tournament.
- Deadline for registering for draw tournaments will be 6:00 PM on Thursday evening.
- Members are allowed to bring a guest to the tournament. They member host may choose to have the guest fish with them rather than be included in the draw.
- Sykora point system to be used (1st – 50 points, 2nd – 45, 3rd – 41, 4th – 38, 5th – 36, 6th – 35, …)
- The lake for the draw tournament will be drawn the Thursday night prior to the tournament. The lake will come from a list of lakes approved by the membership.
- Each person may have only five (5) fish in the livewell at one time.
- No lake will be fished in two consecutive years.
- Minnewaska, Ida and the Le Homme Dieu chain will not be fished in the draw tournaments.
- Plagues will not be given at the draw tournament.
Section 2: Mega Bucks Tournament
- The Mega Bucks tournament will consist of the ten members with the most points.
- Alternates will be determined in order of point standings.
- Tie-breakers for qualifying for the Mega Bucks are:
- Total fish of the three best tournaments
- Total weight of the three best tournaments
- The lake(s) will be determined at a spring meeting with all members being informed of the lake(s).
- Pre-fishing cut off will be the Sunday before the tournament at 8:00 PM.
- The lake(s) shall be divided into 10 sections with each member fishing each section for one (1) hour.
- The two day total weight shall determine the standings.
- The tie-breakers for the Mega Bucks tournament are:
- Total number of fish caught during the two days
- Big fish caught during the two days.
- The total payback will be determined each year.
- The winner shall receive a Mega Buck’s trophy or plaque.
Section 3: Angler of the Year
- The member who accumulates the highest number of points from the draw tournaments.
- Tie-breakers are:
- Total number of fish caught for the three best tournaments
- Total weight of the three best tournaments
- The Angler of the Year shall receive a plaque.
- A Big Bass of the Year plaque will be presented to the member catching the largest bass during one of the draw tournaments.
ARTICLE V: FINANCES
Section 1: Income
- Membership dues
- Fundraiser tournament
- Bohemian tournament
Section 2: Donations
Programs approved by the membership.
