Palomar Knot

The Palomar Knot is a quick, easy to tie knot used to tie line to swivels, snaps, hooks and lures. The double wrap of line provides a protective cushion for excellent knot strength.

Tying the Palomar Knot

1. Double the line and form a loop three to four inches long. Pass the end of the loop through the eye of the hook.
2. Holding the standing line between thumb and finger, grasp loop with free hand and form a simple overhand knot.
3. Pass the hook through the loop and draw line tight while guiding the loop over the eye.
4. Pull the tag end of the line tight. Trim the tag end to about 1/4 inch.
